A 33-year-old man has been sentenced to 15 years in prison after admitting his involvement in a fatal hit-and-run incident in Anaheim, as documented in court records. John Edward Angulo, a resident of Orange, entered a guilty plea on Thursday, August 29, to charges of gross vehicular manslaughter while intoxicated and hit-and-run causing serious and permanent injury. He also received an additional sentence enhancement for leaving the scene of the accident. The crash, which tragically claimed the life of 37-year-old Buena Park resident, was investigated by Anaheim police. Authorities reported that Angulo drove through a red light, colliding with the victim’s vehicle at the intersection of Knott and Orange avenues. After the crash, Angulo fled the scene but was found several hours later, asleep in another vehicle near the site of the collision, according to the police.
